Translation

– TRANSFER OF CONTENT INTO A DIFFERENT LANGUAGE

We distinguish between Computer Assisted Translation (CAT), which a translator performs, and Machine Translation (MT). Compared to exclusively human translation, machine-aided translation is faster and more efficient. Previously translated passages and segments are reused, customer-defined and industry-specific terminology from previous releases is maintained. This approach ensures linguistic and stylistic consistency while reducing costs.

If a large number of words needs to be translated extremely quickly and linguistic quality is less important, machine translation is preferrable. However, we recommend post-editing of any machine translated text by human translators to fine-tune its style and terminology.

Localization

– OPTIMIZED TRANSLATION WITH CULTURAL AND LINGUISTIC ADAPTATIONS

Localization goes well beyond a 1:1 translation from the source language into the target language: The translated text is also properly adapted to the target market. This does not only apply to the change of date, time or currency formats, but the text must also be adapted to match the linguistic idiosyncrasies and cultural aspects of the target language.

This requires more than just language proficiency – knowledge of local and regional settings as well as linguistic nuances are the foundation of any successful translation. In addition, the translator’s technical ability to understand the functionality of the software products plays a vital role. Transcreation

– TRANSLATION PAIRED WITH CREATIVITY

The term transcreation originates from the advertising business where it denotes the adaptation of a commercial message to the cultural and linguistic settings of another country. Translation requires a similar approach: Transcreation does not aim at a word-for-word translation but considers factors such as culture, mores, dialects, idiom, humor and context. This ensures that the product is comfortably understandable in the target market.

Post-Editing

Have you used translation programs like Google Translator or DeepL to translate texts, but now find that they do not sound quite right? We offer post-editing for these texts so that you end up with correct content and grammar plus consistent terminology and style.
